Communication is key and we keep you updated throughout services whether it’s progress photos or letting you know about a new challenge that’s come up. Questions are welcome at any point.

We are grateful for the opportunity to repair your vehicle and look forward to working with you.

Here’s an overview of what to
expect when you choose HBE

STEP 1: Initial Contact

After you contact us, expect to hear from an estimator within one business day to schedule a consultation at your location or our Monticello body shop.

STEP 2: Consultation and Estimate

During your consultation, we inspect your vehicle to understand what repairs are needed. Your estimate provides a detailed breakdown of the timeline, services, paint, parts, and other materials needed to complete the repair.

Estimates are based on the information collected during the consultation, as well as what we gather from manufacturers about parts pricing and availability. Swift work is always our goal. We are realistic and transparent that part availability can impact timing, especially for RV service.

STEP 3: Approval

You or your insurance company need to approve the estimate before repairs begin. Sometimes insurance companies negotiate repairs or determine whether a vehicle can’t be repaired.

STEP 4: Scheduling Repair

When an estimate is approved, we order the parts needed for your repair. How long it takes for parts to arrive depends on the manufacturer and its dealer networks. When we have the parts, we contact you to schedule the repair, including free vehicle pickup or drop off for service.

STEP 5: Disassembly

Repair work starts by disassembling the vehicle. During this step, a technician might find hidden damage that couldn’t be spotted while estimating. If this happens, we contact you and your insurance provider to get approval for additional costs or parts needed.

STEP 6: Auto Body Repair

During repair, any structural issues are addressed before moving on to repair or replace panels, parts, and finishes.

STEP 7: Blast and Paint

Vehicles need a bit of preparation before applying autobody paint. First, we tape, mask, sand and prime your vehicle. If needed, we might use sandblast equipment to smooth and create a paintable surface. After color confirmation using Axalta computerized paint-matching technology, paint, clear coat, and decals are applied.

STEP 8: Reassembly

Repair work wraps up by putting everything back together for a final inspection and quality check.

STEP 9: Pickup/Delivery

When the job is complete, we contact you to review repairs and schedule pickup or free delivery of your vehicle. Payment or insurance deductibles are due at pickup or delivery of your vehicle, when you receive a final, itemized bill.

STEP 10: Company-Backed Repairs and Product Warranty

HBE stands behind its workmanship and will take care of any concerns with the repair. HBE uses Axalta paint products, following the manufacturer’s warranty based on the quality of paint selected by the customer.  If original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts are used in the repair, HBE will support the manufacturer’s warranty on those parts.
